Dr Wong Chee Wai

Dr Wong Chee Wai is a senior consultant ophthalmologist and eye specialist with over 16 years of clinical experience. He has extensive expertise in managing retinal diseases, cataracts, and high myopia, and provides comprehensive care for patients with refractive conditions such as myopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.​

Previously with the SingHealth Group, Dr Wong established the High Myopia Clinic at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and set up the vitreoretinal service at Sengkang General Hospital. At LSC Eye Clinic, he collaborates closely with fellow specialists to provide patients with advanced options in laser eye treatment, including LASIK, ZEISS SMILE^® Pro, and ZEISS PRESBYOND.​

In the academic field, Dr Wong was Deputy Director of Undergraduate Education at SNEC and Programme Director for Ophthalmology at Duke-NUS Medical School. He has published over 70 scientific articles and secured multiple research grants, particularly in ocular drug delivery and myopia management. He also serves as a peer reviewer for leading journals such as Ophthalmology and Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science.​

His work has been recognised through awards including the SingHealth Publish! Award, Healthcare Heroes Award, and Quality Service Award. He is also an active committee member of the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology (SSO).​

Dr Wong completed his MBBS and MMed (Ophthalmology) at the National University of Singapore, his vitreoretinal fellowship at SNEC, and holds both a Master’s in Clinical Investigation (NUS) and a PhD in Ocular Drug Delivery (Utrecht University).​

At LSC Eye Clinic, Dr Wong continues to deliver patient-centred care with a strong focus on clear communication and tailored treatment plans. His expertise ensures that patients with complex eye conditions such as ARMD, glaucoma, cataracts, and high myopia receive evidence-based care using the latest technology.​
