Our Diagnostic Approach

Every visit at LSC Eye Clinic begins with a structured assessment where our clinical team of ophthalmologists and optometrists use a range of diagnostic tools to evaluate vision, eye pressure, corneal health, and the retina and optic nerve. Every assessment is carried out with care and explained clearly, so patients leave with a proper understanding of their eyes and a well-informed plan for next steps.

When to Seek Specialist Care

If you are noticing changes in your vision or eye comfort, a consultation with an eye specialist can help clarify what is happening and whether any further assessment is needed.

Blurred or Hazy Vision

A gradual or sudden change in how clearly you see, at any distance, is worth having reviewed by an eye specialist.

Eye Pain or Pressure

Persistent discomfort, aching, or a feeling of pressure in or around the eye may benefit from a clinical assessment.

Redness or Irritation

Redness that does not settle on its own, or that recurs frequently, can be assessed to identify an underlying cause.

Floaters or Flashes

New or increased floaters, or flashes of light in your vision, are symptoms that an ophthalmologist can evaluate.

Watering or Discharge

Persistent watering, stickiness, or discharge from the eye may indicate a condition that benefits from professional review.

Headaches with Vision Discomfort

Frequent headaches that occur alongside visual discomfort can sometimes be linked to underlying eye health factors.

Sudden Vision Changes

Any rapid or unexplained shift in vision clarity, colour perception, or visual field is a reason to seek a timely consultation.

Routine Eye Checks

Regular eye checks are important to ensure healthy vision, no matter what age. Consider an eye screening today.

Frequently Asked Questions About Eye Clinics

No referral is needed to see an eye specialist clinic in Singapore as a private patient. However, if you intend to claim insurance for your visit, most insurers require a GP referral, so it is advisable to check your policy and obtain one beforehand if applicable.

An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor with postgraduate specialist training in eye diseases, surgery, and treatment. An optometrist is a healthcare professional trained in vision testing and prescribing corrective lenses. For medical conditions or surgical procedures, a consultation with an ophthalmologist is required.

Look for an eye specialist clinic Singapore with qualified ophthalmologists, a clear scope of services covering both refractive and medical eye conditions, and transparent fee information. Continuity of care, structured diagnostic processes, and accessible location are also practical factors worth considering.

Bring your NRIC or passport, your current spectacles or contact lenses, and any relevant medical records or referral letters. If you have existing eye reports or scans from a previous clinic, these are helpful for the eye doctor to review during the consultation.

A standard eye examination is not painful. Some tests involve brief contact with the eye surface, such as eye pressure measurement, and dilating eye drops may cause temporary light sensitivity and blurred near vision for a few hours. The clinical team will explain each step before proceeding.

A standard consultation at our eye clinic in SG typically takes between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the tests required. If pupil dilation is needed, please allow additional time as the effects can take 30 to 45 minutes to take hold and a few hours to wear off.

Yes. LSC Eye Clinic provides assessment, monitoring, and treatment for a range of medical eye conditions including cataracts and glaucoma. Both Dr Daphne Han and Dr Wong Chee Wai have clinical expertise in these areas, and treatment recommendations are made based on each patient's individual assessment findings.

Seek prompt advice if you experience a sudden change in vision, a significant increase in floaters or flashes of light, eye pain, or vision loss in one or both eyes. While not all symptoms require emergency care, these are signs that warrant timely review by an eye doctor in Singapore.
